What is Your "Why"?
Share
What makes you get out of bed in the morning?
A job, your family, what is it?
Don’t know?
Welcome to the club.
A couple years ago I felt that same way. I would get up, go to work, do what I needed to do and come home just to do the same thing the next day. My “why” was just because I had to. I had to work so I could make money so I could take care of myself and live my life.
You see, the problem with that is, it doesn’t take long for you to get just caught up going through the motions and you actually don’t end up getting to live the life you want.
When you get caught up going through the motions you are constantly on the hunt for temporary gratification so you indulge in food, you go buy a new car with a massive payment, you name it.
When you are constantly doing things for temporary gratification you go farther down the hole of going through the motions.
The reason this all happens is because we forget why we do what we do.
You have to remember that you have opportunities wherever you are and whatever you do.
Everything you do should be glorifying God. Yes, where you are right now may not be fun but you don’t have to be stuck there forever.
You are where you are for a reason. You can have an impact where you are and learn skills that you may need to progress through God’s plan for your life.
There is a huge misconception about God’s plan for people’s lives.
Yes, God has an amazing plan for your life and He will do everything He can to make sure you accomplish it but we have to do our part in making sure we are working towards accomplishing His plan and seeking His guidance through it all.
Too often we get caught up in going through the motions and we lose focus of what we are here to do and then when we don’t know where we are in life we blame God when it is our fault because we stopped seeking HIs guidance.
God has a great plan for you, you just have to go after it.
