Making Things Happen Means Embracing the Uncomfortable
Share
In life, making real things happen rarely feels easy.
Achieving big goals and pursuing true purpose requires that we get comfortable being uncomfortable. We’re often told to seek the path of least resistance, to aim for balance, and to take it easy.
But anyone who’s fought for something meaningful knows that true progress comes from stepping into discomfort, facing challenges, and pushing beyond what’s familiar.
Scripture gives us a strong reminder of this in James 1:2-4: “When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
Our growth, strength, and ultimate success don’t come from the easy times. They come from the moments we press on, despite the discomfort and uncertainty.
When we commit to “making things happen,” whether it’s a personal goal, a career pursuit, or a calling, we’re going to encounter resistance.
There will be moments of doubt, fear, and discomfort. But stepping through these challenges builds resilience. We start to realize that discomfort is not a barrier but a sign of growth. The fear that tells us to stop or turn back is also the indicator that we’re moving toward something meaningful.
God didn’t promise us a comfortable life, but He did promise His presence in every trial. Isaiah 41:10 encourages us: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” God’s promise is to be with us, especially when the path feels uncertain. He gives us the strength to keep going when we feel like giving up.
If we’re going to make things happen, we have to be willing to push through discomfort and stay committed even when the road is tough.
The journey might not be easy, but it’s in the uncomfortable moments that we find our strength, our purpose, and our faith. So let’s keep moving forward, embracing the struggle, knowing that God is with us and that every step brings us closer to the life He’s called us to live.
