Pray

Today is the day…..

It is election day. A day that will define the course of our country for at least the next four years.

If you haven’t already placed your vote go do so after you finish reading this.

So, what now?

Do we sit and stew and watch the election results (I am guilty of this)?

I do think it is important to watch the results come in because we are ultimately the ones that have to hold the media and our election officials accountable.

But, we also need to do something else that is very important.

Pray.

If you haven’t been praying over the election now is a good time to start.

We need to pray for each of the candidates regardless of your feelings because like you and I they are still children of God.

We need to pray that the election is handled fairly and that the truth will come to light about anything evil that happens.

We need to pray that ultimately God's will be done. We often forget that He has a plan much greater than we can imagine and that He is ultimately in control.

We need to pray that whoever wins is protected and that they are guided by God.

So, today when you are voting, or while waiting in line to vote, or if you feel a little stressed about the election….. Pray.

Remember to do your part, control what you can control, and draw near to God.
